National CooperativeRx Announces Director of Sales and Marketing

National CooperativeRx is pleased to announce Troy Cook has joined the Cooperative as Director of Sales and Marketing. In this role, Troy will be an integral part of the leadership team, overseeing sales and marketing strategies, strengthening relationships with members and partners, and driving the Cooperative’s growth.

Troy brings more than 30 years of experience in employee benefits consulting and business development. He began his career in the industry in 1995 as an employee benefits specialist, supporting corporate benefits plans. Over the next 19 years, he held roles including manager, vice president, and senior vice president/principal, working with clients ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Throughout his tenure at various insurance brokerages, he excelled in client development and was recognized as a Leading Producer by the National Association of Benefits Insurance Professionals’ Leading Producers Round Table.

After nearly two decades in the brokerage sector, Troy transitioned to a health management solutions organization as vice president of sales and business development. In this role, he led commercial sales and marketing, established multiple sales distribution channels, and implemented business development systems that drove sustainable long-term growth.

For the past six years, Troy has been with a major healthcare system in the Midwest, serving first as a division director and later as regional director of occupational health and business solutions. As regional director, he led strategy and sales for the workplace health and employer health solutions business unit, including occupational health, direct primary care, direct contracting, and other employee-benefit related services.

Joining the National CooperativeRx team represents the next chapter in Troy’s distinguished career, where he will leverage his extensive experience to drive growth and expand the Cooperative’s network of partners.

In addition to his role at National CooperativeRx, Troy provides professional consulting services, is a motivational speaker, and previously served on the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Advisory Board at his alma mater, the University of Northern Iowa. Troy was recognized in 2025 and 2026 as one of the 500 most influential leaders in the state of Iowa. He continues to serve on several corporate and non-profit boards and committees.

Troy is based in Des Moines, Iowa, where he has lived for the past 30 years. He has continued his passion for staying healthy by competing in track and running events (“old-man” events, as he calls them) and spending time with his wife, Deann, and their two adult children.
