Christine Newsom: Strategic Account Executive

National CooperativeRx is pleased to introduce Christine Newsom, Strategic Account Executive, to our members and partners. As a strategic account executive, Christine manages her own group of accounts, fostering relationships with new and existing members and their partners to help optimize pharmacy benefit plans.

Christine began her career in the retail pharmacy industry during high school and continued through college at Wright State University. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management, she joined a long-term care pharmacy, where she gained hands-on experience handling prescription orders and working closely with pharmacy account managers to support client objectives. It was during this time that her interest in account management grew, inspiring her to take on her own portfolio of accounts, where she developed personalized service plans and delivered solutions tailored to her clients’ needs.

After four years in pharmacy account management, Christine broadened her professional experience in the mortgage industry. There, she facilitated closings and collaborated with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth, efficient onboarding experience for clients. But her passion for pharmacy drew her back to the field. She returned as a pharmacy benefit account manager at CVS Caremark, overseeing complex accounts, guiding clients through benefit changes, and working closely with brokers to address day-to-day client challenges.

“Returning to the pharmacy industry felt like coming home,” said Christine. “This industry has been such a big part of my journey, shaping who I am professionally and personally. It’s been great to be back, supporting clients and collaborating with brokers to make a real difference.”

Regarding her new role at National CooperativeRx, Christine commented, “This role was a natural next step for me. I look forward to bringing together my account management experience, pharmacy knowledge, and business development skills to help members and partners succeed while driving growth for the Cooperative.”

Christine lives in northwest Ohio and enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, and her dog, Lafayette, a Lab–Bluetick Coonhound mix. In the summer months, she can often be found on the golf course and loves volunteering each year at a PGA tour golf tournament in Detroit.
