New and Returning Board Members, Vice Chair Announced

With the conclusion of the 2025 National CooperativeRx Board of Directors election, we are pleased to announce several updates to our Member Board.

Heather Hormel: Re-Elected and Newly Elected Vice Chair

Our membership has re-elected Heather Hormel to a new three-year term on our Board of Directors. In addition, the Board has elected Heather as Vice Chair.

Heather is the Senior Director of Human Resources at United Regional Health Care System, where she has played a key role in developing compensation and benefits programs and building employee engagement for over 16 years. Her extensive experience in managing multi-state compensation and benefits programs, combined with her innovative approaches to employee solutions, have made her an invaluable asset to the Board.

National CooperativeRx’s CEO, Josh Bindl, commented, “With the experience of her first term under her belt, we are excited Heather is back for another term. She was a natural choice for Vice Chair with her level approach to any issue that comes before the Board. We appreciate her willingness to serve.”

United Regional Health Care System is made up of vital community hospital and provider clinics in the greater Wichita Falls, TX, area dedicated to elevating regional healthcare through exceptional care, state-of-the-art technology, and highly skilled professionals. United Regional Health Care System joined the National CooperativeRx membership in 2019, and in 2022, Heather was elected to her first three-year term on our Board of Directors.

Introducing Brian Glaser: New Board Member

We are pleased to welcome Brian Glaser to the Board of Directors, elected by our membership to serve a three-year term.

Brian is the Director, Global Benefits for SC Johnson where he is responsible for leading the design and governance of global benefit and well-being programs in 49 countries that align with the organization’s principles and financial capabilities.

Brian has more than 24 years of Human Resources leadership experience with responsibilities in areas such as benefits strategy, administration, and governance. Prior to SC Johnson, Brian was an Account Executive for large market clients at a global consulting firm where he managed large commercial and public sector accounts and delivered strategic recommendations for health, leave and ancillary benefits. He has also served as the Senior Director, Rewards at Volkswagen Group of America where he led the compensation, benefits and payroll departments for Volkswagen’s U.S. subsidiary and its Chattanooga manufacturing facility.

National CooperativeRx’s CEO, Josh Bindl, commented, “Brian brings a wealth of expertise in benefits strategy and organizational leadership. His broad background of both delivering and consulting on benefits will be a valuable asset as we continue to enhance our solutions and deliver even greater value for our members.”

SC Johnson is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of household cleaning products, professional products, and products for home storage, air care, pest control, and shoe care. The company produces some of the most well-known brands such as Glade®, OFF!®, Pledge®, etc. SC Johnson is a family-owned company in Racine, WI, and was established over 130 years ago. SC Johnson joined the National CooperativeRx membership at the start of 2025.

Welcome Doug Benzine: New Board Member and Representative of Founding Member, The Alliance

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Doug Benzine to the Board of Directors. Doug is the Vice President of Finance and Operations at The Alliance, where he oversees several departments including claims and customer service, finance, management information systems, human resources, and business planning and reporting.

Doug has over 30 years of experience in business finance and organizational operations. Prior to The Alliance, Doug was the Vice President of Operations at WPS Health Solutions, where he led the rapid expansion of the organization’s most profitable division, while managing the largest federal Veteran Affairs health claims administration contract in the nation.

The Alliance is a founding member of National CooperativeRx and has an automatic seat on our Board of Directors. The Alliance is a not-for-profit, employer-owned cooperative, whose mission is to move health care forward by controlling costs, improving quality, and engaging individuals in their health. For over 35 years, The Alliance has helped self-funded employers get the best healthcare at the best price, through their development of custom Smarter NetworksSM using deep data mining and analysis to find savings for their members.
