Bianca Gerambio: Prior Authorization Coordinator

We are pleased to announce the addition of Bianca Gerambio to the National CooperativeRx team! Bianca is our new prior authorization coordinator and will provide technical and administrative support to clinical initiatives. She will collaborate with our clinical team on the Cooperative prior authorization process (more information coming soon) and will ensure patients receive a high level of service, efficiency, and fairness.

Bianca was born and raised in Chicago, Ill. She attended Northwestern College where she received her pharmacy technician diploma. When asked why she embarked on a health care career path, Bianca explained, “Growing up, my family practiced natural medicine. This led me to develop an interest in the different forms of treatment. When I decided to pursue a health care profession, I thought I could be the starting path in my family for conventional medicine.”

After college, she followed her family to Madison, Wis., where she worked at a debt collection call center for many years. Bianca was successful but desired a position that would allow her to make a positive difference in people’s lives. She explained how grateful she is to have the opportunity to prioritize the needs of patients at National CooperativeRx. “I chose National CooperativeRx because I feel I will be able to make a big impact within a small organization. I appreciate the modern company culture and admire the Cooperative’s focus on members and its Cooperative principles. I have come full circle and am back on the career path I was passionate about to begin with,” says Bianca.

When asked what she was most looking forward to in her new position, Bianca indicated her eagerness to sit in on review boards for prior authorizations. She explained, “I am interested in hearing the detailed reasoning for why prior authorizations are approved or not approved by a board of clinical experts.”

Bianca currently resides in Sauk City, Wis., and enjoys kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and camping on the sandbar along the Wisconsin River. When she is not spending time in the great outdoors, she loves to watch Marvel movies, even calling herself a self-proclaimed Marvel cinematic universe expert. Bianca lives with her husband, Tom, and three cats, Nina Simone, Charlie, and Shadow Moon.
