Board of Directors Switch Things Up

Empty board room table

National CooperativeRx is governed by its members, for its members. To ensure the Cooperative’s goals are aligned with those of our members, our Board of Directors is elected by our membership.

After a highly successful 2016, our board members are transitioning to new leadership.

Paul Meyer has stepped down from the position of Chair. Mr. Meyer has been a huge asset to the Cooperative in his nine years as Chair, and will retain an executive position as Past Chair. Mr. Meyer’s service to the Cooperative was acknowledged by CEO Josh Bindl at the 2017 Annual Meeting in May.

In addition, Jim Malicki stepped down from the Board after 11 years of service, serving as Secretary from 2012-2017. He brought with him a great sense of dedication, and his charisma on the Board will be missed. We are grateful for the time he spent with us, and wish Mr. Malicki all the best in his future endeavors!

Joining the Board of Directors as our newest representative is Marty Dreischmeier, CFO of WPPI Energy. Mr. Dreischmeier was voted into the position at the 2017 Annual Meeting, adding additional financial expertise to the Board.

Following the Annual Meeting, the Board of Directors held officer elections. Elected as Chair was Larry Richardson, Executive Director of FABOH. Mr. Richardson most recently served as the Treasurer and comes with many years of experience on the National CooperativeRx Board of Directors.

Mark O’Connell, Executive Director of Wisconsin Counties Association, was elected Vice Chair.  Mr. O’Connell joined the Board in 2016 representing WCA Group Health Trust.

Joy Matthews was elected to the role of Treasurer & Secretary — which will now be a combined position. Ms. Matthews is the VP of Total Rewards with QBE North America and has been a board member since 2015.

The Cooperative is fortunate to have so many dedicated, loyal representatives willing to give their time freely to support the organization in running efficiently and in a direction that promotes both growth and cooperative values.
