Emily Torgerson: Modern Millennial
Known for her creative writing skills and ability to juggle multiple projects, Emily Torgerson is a key member of the account management team leading communication efforts for National CooperativeRx.
Emily is famous with the staff for deep roots in her hometown of Eau Claire, Wis. She makes frequent trips to visit family and friends and is a proud alumna of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where she graduated with degrees in public relations and event planning. As an only child, Emily learned from her parents the importance of a strong work ethic. To this day, Emily maintains her full-time professional role as communications manager in addition to her part-time job serving Italian fare at Avanti’s in Verona. There is no rest for this active millennial. In addition to a busy work schedule, Emily loves to travel.
But you won’t catch Emily exploring a jungle unless it’s made of concrete and steel. She loves city life, food, fashion and pop culture. Her pastimes include “anything on Bravo!” and maintaining an active Instagram account where she posts life experiences and the local gastronomy scene of Madison. One of her favorite places to visit is Los Angeles where she enjoys visiting friends, dining, sightseeing, and of course, keeping her eye out for celebrities. She is looking forward to two international trips this year: Italy to stay with a friend and the Dominican Republic for her best friend’s wedding.
During the past two years at National CooperativeRx, Emily has worked hard to develop as a professional and was excited to be promoted last fall. “It’s an honor the leadership team trusted me to perform well in this role,” Emily states. The real key to her success stems from the fact she genuinely loves her job. With a supportive staff and flexible work environment, Emily notes her favorite aspects of the role are planning the company’s two annual meetings and writing for the Cooperative blog. “I enjoy taking the complexity of the pharmacy benefit world and creating pieces for an audience that does not regularly use the jargon.”
Next month, she will launch a quarterly newsletter on drug pipelines in collaboration with our clinical staff. With a bright future ahead, Emily looks forward to the point in her career where she will manage a small communications team and have more spare time to write for online publications and enjoy concerts and NFL games.
